00:14 Well, you're not old enough to know, but Exxon gasoline company, this giant petroleum company used to go by a different name, and today you're going to learn what that name is and maybe it'll become your name. First Peter Chapter Five, verses five through seven. It says, "you younger men likewise be subject to your elders and all of you, clothe yourself with humility toward one another. For God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon him because he cares for you."
00:56 Yes. Once upon a time, Exxon gasoline was called 'Humble.' Now that's like in previous three centuries I think. When I was a child, Humble gasoline, humble people, they're the best in the world. You know, one of my heroes has a funny name. His real name is Aaron, but all of his friends call him Greece. Greece has my next door neighbor. And uh, I love Greece. And you know what people love so much about Greece. Uh, it's not that he's big, strong, handsome, and he's all of those, not that he's a great football player and he was that too. Not that he's a wonderful, great husband. He's that too. But you know what we like about Greece? He's the most humble man you'll ever meet. You know, great big guns, you know, in his arms and great big, handsome smile. He's got it all. But Greece is humble. Greece never toots his own horn. And that's why people like to toot Greece's horn for him. I'm so blessed to be surrounded by humble people.
01:54 Chris Cooper, the director of director's in our Kamp, the executive director and Dana Thomas, the director of directors, the executive director at the Kamps here. The most humble guys you'll ever meet in your life. People toot their horn. They don't need to toot their own horn. You know what? God loves humility. Somebody asked me the other day, how do you stay humble? I said, get married. And they said, anything else? I go, 'no, that's all you need.' It's just a humbling day after humbling day saying, I'm sorry, is my favorite thing to do in marriage.
02:25 Let me ask you a question about humility. I mean, really seriously, sincerely. Why do you think God loves humble people? Why do you think God gives grace to the humble? And on the other side of the coin, why do you think God opposes the proud? What is it about pride that it makes it an abomination to God? And the most important question today is the, this, and I think of Greece, I think of Chris and I think of Dana and other humble people. What can you do as scripture says, to humble yourself before the presence of the God? What can you do today to humble yourself to your parents, to your spouse, to your kids? What do you need to do today to humble yourself before God so that he may exalt you at the proper time?
